Sorting out problems when the program starts
On some computers when the program starts, it finds that some necessary support isn't available on the computer. (For example inking or speech functionality might not be present.) If a problem occurs when the program starts, a window will appear with some details of the problem. The image below shows an example of this window.

If you'd like the problem to be investigated, press the "Send Details" button. An e-mail window will appear using your default e-mail editor. If you send the e-mail, Guy Barker will contact you with suggestions as to how to get the program working as it should.
Also, when the Herbi Writer program is installed, by default it is copied into the "\Program Files\Herbi.org" folder on your computer. Originally lots of files used by the program were copied there too. This included the sample letters and backgrounds, and also any files that were updated by the program. (For example, a settings file for remembering settings between sessions, or new sets of customized letters that you may have created yourself.) Having all these files located beneath the "\Program Files" folder can be problematic for computers running the Window Vista operating system, so the program has recently been changed to store all these files beneath the "users" folder on your computer instead. (For example, "C:\Users\Guy\AppData\Roaming\Herbi.org\HerbiWriter".)
