Herbi Writer Reports
The Herbi Writer program has been updated to introduce a report which shows which of the student's letters were considered to be correct and which were considered incorrect. To get a report of the student's activity, follow the steps below.
Click the Settings button, and then click the "Student" tab in the Settings window that appears.
Type the student's name, and check the "Show the student's name" check box if it's not already checked.
Write some letters in such a way that some of the letters are evaluated as being correct, and some as incorrect.
Click the "Statistics" button, and see a "Statistics Viewer" window appear.
Select the student's name from the dropdown list near the top left of the window.
Click the "View Statistics" button.
A report of the student's activity then appears. The picture below shows the following information contained in the report:
The student's name, for example "Guy".
The set of letters which contains the sample letters being drawn, "Lower case letters".
Which letters were drawn by the student, and a "Succeeded" value indicating whether the student's letter was evaluated as being correct or incorrect.
A summary showing the total number of letters which were considered to be correct, and the total number which were considered to be incorrect.

Using the report, it may be more practical to review the student's activity to identify which letters are posing the most difficulty. In the future the report could be enhanced to contain more information. As part of this, Herbi Writer would be improved to present a list of users which have used the software, so that you can easily switch between users during your class. (Note that while the report today can show activity for more than one student, if you click the Print button, the information printed will only relate to the student who most recently used the software.)
