Easier to work with things on the screen
For some people, it can be difficult to use a mouse or to learn to use a mouse. In some cases it may be easier to use a pen to work directly with the screen. It can be more natural for you to work with something on the screen while keeping your attention on that area of the screen, rather than having to switch your attention between the screen and some other input-related place, (like the mouse or keyboard.)
