ColorView Program
ColorView is a simple program that shows the amount of red, green, and blue there is at the point on the screen where the cursor is.
You can install the program by following the instructions at the bottom of this page. After installing the ColorView program, you can run it from the desktop shortcut shown here.

When the ColorView program runs, a small window appear with the title "ColorView". This window will appear on top of other programs, even when you work with the other programs.

There are three things shown in the ColorView window. On the left side of the window is an area filled with the colour of the screen where the cursor is.
To the right of the filled area, the amount of red, green, and blue in the colour is shown. These values are in the range of 0 to 255.
Above the values, is a name loosely describing the color. The name shown is one of:
White
Black
Gray
Dark Gray
Red
Dark Red
Yellow
Dark Yellow
Green
Dark Green
Cyan
Dark Cyan
Blue
Dark Blue
Magenta

When the color lies somewhere between one of the colors above, the name may not be a strong match for the actual color. For example, the name shown may be red or yellow, when the color is really orange. Over time, the list of names will be expanded to include more colors.
When the window is minimized, the button that appears on the Task Bar will show the name of the color.
